Michael B. Farnham, age 73, of Iberia, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at University Hospital in Columbia. He was born in Iberia, on December 10, 1950, son of the late Samuel and Erma (Humphrey) Farnham. On April 4, 1981, Mike was united in marriage to Sheila Malmberg, who survives at their home.
Mike served during the Vietnam War in the United States Army from December 10, 1970, until his honorable discharge on March 31, 1972, earning the Bronze Star. After his discharge from the Army in 1972, Mike started his working career with MODOT where he was employed full-time until 2001. He continued working part time with MODOT from 2001 to 2011.
Mike was a classic car enthusiast and took great pleasure in working on cars of all types. He was a man that possessed a deep faith and love for God and was a faithful member of the First Assembly of God Church in Iberia.
In addition to his loving wife, Sheila Farnham, he is also survived by his sister-in-law, Judy Farnham, aunt, Veta Humphrey, and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Erma Farnham; brother, Larry Farnham; sister, Wanda Randall; and father and mother-in-law, Esther and Wilburn Wilson.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 (noon) with services immediately following at 12 (noon), on Friday, April 5, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. Chip Sanders officiating. Interment with military honors will be held in Madden Cemetery near Iberia.
