Michael Alexander Nickell, age 17, of Independence, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020. He was born in Independence on July 14, 2003.

He is survived by his mother, Amy Yuelle and husband Larry; two brothers, Kristian and Bryce Hakes; grandparents, Roger and Linda Nickell; great-grandmother, Norma (Nickell) Hodge; numerous cousins who loved him like a brother and several aunts, uncles, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by two great-grandparents, Cecil Nickell and Jim Hodge; maternal great-grandparents, Bob and Pat Vest; and three uncles.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 7, at Seaton Cemetery near Dixon.
