Michael Ryan, age 73, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at his home. He was born in Granite City, Illinois, on August 30, 1943, to Eleanor (King) Parker. Michael was raised in Tuscumbia by Clara and Lafe C. King.
Michael was an outdoorsman who liked conservation trips and enjoyed hunting, fishing, arrowhead hunting, and four-wheeling. Throughout his life Michael farmed and was also a concrete and construction laborer. He cherished the time that he spent with his family and friends. Michael was baptized at the Iberia Nazarene Church.
In addition to his wife, Joan (Lovell) Ryan, he is also survived by four sons, James Kevin Ryan of Tuscumbia, Dwayne (Lola) Ryan of Tuscumbia, Kent (Brenna Steward) Ryan of Climax Springs, and Tyler (Scott George) Nilges of Camdenton; one daughter, Valerie Ryan of Barnett; six grandchildren, Alex Maher, Heather Ryan, Garry Light, Chyann Ryan, Haylee Ryan, and Keysha Ryan; and one great-granddaughter, Chariot Love Ryan.
Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 p.m., with services immediately following at 2 p.m., on Saturday, June 10, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rick Yoder will officiate. Interment will be held at a later date at Capps Cemetery near St. Elizabeth.
