Michael "Mike" Walter Welch, age 53, of Jefferson City, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.  He was born in Orange County, Texas, son of the late Richard and Mary (McCully) Welch.  On October 18, 2008, in Jefferson City, Mike was united in marriage to Shawn Luttrell, who survives at their home.

Mike honorably served in the United States Army for over 20 years, completing 2 tours in Iraq, and later retired from the Missouri National Guard in 2019.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing with his daughter, Peyton, and had a passion for cooking.  Mike was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan.  He was a loving husband and father who left behind beautiful memories for his loved ones to treasure.

In addition to his wife, Shawn Welch, he is also survived by his daughter, Peyton Welch of the home; two sons, Michael Welch and Mark Welch; sister, Camille Gordon; two brothers, Joe Welch and Pat Welch; father and mother-in-law, Gary and Charlene Luttrell; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Mike Welch Memorial Fund.
