Obituary

Micheal L. Irwin, age 54, of Iberia, died Monday, August 4, 2008, at his home. He was born in Iberia on February 18, 1954, son of Clarence B. and Ida M. (Wilson) Irwin. On June 26, 1981, in Camden County, he was married to Linda Keeth, who survives at the home.

He worked as a cook at Lake of the Ozarks prior to his employment with LB Manufacturing (Blauer Family Company) in May of 1972. He worked his way up to plant manager resigning in November of 2006. He then worked for Bank of Iberia as a loan processor until October of 2007. He was a member of the Iberia Assembly of God Church.

Other survivors include one daughter, LeAnn Marie Huey and husband Jason of Swedeborg; one stepson, William J. Blankenship Jr. and wife Jeanine of Iberia; his mother, Ida Marie Irwin of Crocker; two grandchildren, Balin Kade Huey and Cadie Ann Huey both of Swedeborg; and two step grandchildren, Jesse Allee Blankenship and Jasper Alvis Blankenship both of Iberia.

He was preceded in death by twin infant sons; his father; and one brother, Gary Irwin.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Jeff Higbie and Rev. Greg McClain will officiate. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Iberia.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Community Hospice of America or Relay for Life.
