Mildred (Bax) Blomberg, age 84, of St. Anthony, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in St. Anthony, daughter of the late Phillip and Augusta (Evers) Bax. On April 28, 1961, Mildred was united in marriage to Harold Blomberg, who survives at their home.
Mildred had a passion for cooking and was notorious for her homemade treats, especially her delicious pies. Mildred also loved to garden and was known for her “green thumb”, cultivating a variety of flowers and vegetables each season. She took great pride in canning the foods she grew, sharing her homemade preserves with family and friends.
In addition to her love for cooking and gardening, Mildred possessed a remarkable talent for sewing and quilting. She often made clothes for her family, creating countless garments throughout her life and leaving a legacy for warmth and love stitched into every seam.
Mildred was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She was past member of the church council and took great pride in her faith and community. She had a rewarding career as a homemaker and later was employed as an administrative assistant for various businesses including Gier Oil, Miller County Assessor’s Office, and for LB Manufacturing in Iberia.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Blomberg; four children, Brian (Sheila) Blomberg, Eva (Buck) Voss, Sandra (Roy) Wilde, and Jason (Jeanne) Blomberg; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Anthony (Jeanie) Bax, and Dorothy Frazier; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Augusta Bax; and her siblings, Catherine Bax, John Bax, Irene Blomberg, Leonard Bax, Raymond Bax, Sylvester Bax, Jerome Bax, and Eleanor Bax.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, January 3, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony with Fr. Christopher Aubuchon officiating. Inurnment will be held in St. Anthony Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
