Mildred Margaret Veasman, age 84, of St. Elizabeth, died Thursday, January 3, 2008, at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born in Meta on December 24, 1923, daughter of Arthur and Katie (Breeding) Wilson. On November 23, 1946, in Brinktown, she was married to John Vernon Veasman, who survives.
In her early years she taught school. She also worked for many years at Century Electric in St. Louis and at the hat factory in St. Elizabeth. She worked most of her life on the farm with her husband. She was a member of the Baptist faith.
Other survivors include three sisters, Goldie Brune of Brinktown, Virginia Ripka of Granite City, Illinois, and Shirley Lough of St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leonard Wilson and Arthur Wilson, Jr.; and one sister, Thelma Duncan.
Visitation will be from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, at Rekus Funeral Home in St. Elizabeth. Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Manuel Seaton officiating. Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
