Molly Ann (Malone) Smith, age 90, of Iberia, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at her home.  She was born on January 18, 1935, daughter of the late Michael and Anna Irene (Wilson) Malone.  In January of 1951, Molly was united in marriage to Gail Wayne Smith, who preceded her in death.

In her younger years, Molly was employed as a switchboard operator and later served as a caregiver for over 15 years.  She took great pride in her flower garden and tended it with care and love.  Her greatest delights included browsing thrift stores for hidden treasures, savoring quiet mornings at her favorite coffee shops, and going out to eat at McDonald's with her friends.

Molly had a gentle nature who had great affection for all of her pets, especially her bichons and poodles, cherishing each one as part of her family.  She was a member of Lackland Road Baptist Church.

She is survived by three children, Daniel (Andrea) Smith of New Virginia, Iowa, Randall (Rose) Smith of New Port Richey, Florida, and Sharon Smith of Iberia; nine grandchildren, Evan Brown, Kristen Heckenkamp, Collin Field, Marcy Smith, Matt Smith, Max Smith, Nathan Smith, Adam Smith, and Rebecca Smith; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Charlotte "Cooky" Morgan, and James "Jim" Malone; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by Lloyd Malone, Minnie Davis, Alta Parker, Bob Malone, Reba Wells, Pat Malone and Linda Roberson.

Visitation will be held from 12 (noon) to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Thursday, July 31, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.  A private interment will be held in Livingston Cemetery near Iberia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Molly Smith Memorial Fund.
