Myrtle Virginia Wilson, age 76, of Tuscumbia, died Sunday, June 11, 2006, at the Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Miller County on July 30, 1929, daughter of Jessie J. and Emma (Cross) Stark. On October 11, 1947, in Tuscumbia, she was married to Warren Bennie Wilson, who preceded her in death on September 29, 2000.
She had worked for Pryor Novelty in Tuscumbia, O and R Poultry Processing in Tuscumbia, the Miller County Road District and retired from the Tuscumbia School District. She was a member of the Tuscumbia Christian Church.
Survivors include one son, Steven Wilson and wife, Denise of Tuscumbia; one daughter, Sharon Pitts and husband, Austin of St. James; one brother, Raymond Stark of Tuscumbia; one sister, Bertha Littleton of Pacific; one granddaughter, Vonda Wilson of Fulton; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Her parents, three brothers, and two sisters preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Gene Edwards and Rev. Larry Schraer will officiate. Interment will be in Hickory Point Cemetery near Iberia.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Tuscumbia Christian Church Building Fund.
