Naomi Umfleet, age 89, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025.  She was born in Iberia on December 22, 1935, daughter of the late Harry and Pauline Hicks.

Naomi is survived by her husband Noel Umfleet, who she married on January 21, 1956, at Hazelwood, Missouri; three sons, David (Teresa) Umfleet, Tom Umfleet, Ron Umfleet; one daughter, Sandra Umfleet; two brothers, Jack (Cathy) Hicks, Glenn (Donna) Hicks; one sister, Paula Hicks; eleven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Richard Umfleet, and three brothers, Jim Hicks, Layne Hicks, and Robert Hicks.

Naomi loved her husband dearly, along with her family and friends. She loved shopping, playing games with friends and traveling. She also loved trail riding. She fished only if someone else baited her hooks. Nascar racing and sports were at the top of her list. She enjoyed the multitude of personal connections she made with people through church and outdoor activities. She also loved being at Pinecrest Camp and serving the Lord!

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, at Iberia City Cemetery.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Pinecrest Camp to help send children to camp.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
