Nina Rose Wilson, age 84, of Iberia, passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, September 29, 2020. She was born in Brumley on May 13, 1936, daughter of the late Earn and Ollie (Jeffries) Brown. On January 1, 1956, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Eldon Nina was united in marriage to Bobby Wilson, and they were blessed with 64 years and two sons.
During her husband's military career spanning 20 years, she and the family moved all over the country to wherever he was stationed. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary where she volunteered for many years. Nina loved her country and honored those who served in the U.S. military by devoting much of her time volunteering at the VA Hospital in Columbia.
Nina's favorite pastimes included painting, gardening, quilting, and traveling. She was an avid reader and enjoyed feeding and watching the birds. She loved life and spending time with her family. Nina was a faithful member of the Brumley Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, Bobby D. Wilson, she is also survived by two sons, Ricky Wilson and William Wilson (Bonnie); five grandchildren, Raechel Pritchett (Joshua), Joshua Wilson (Natashia), Lisa Wilson, William "Billy" Wilson (Jessie), and Ricky Wilson; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Alta Johnson and Shirley Brown; two brothers, Earn and Emmitt Brown; and one granddaughter, Stephanie Wilson.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Friday, October 2, 2020, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. Warren Mitchell officiating. Interment will be held in Union Cemetery near Iberia.
