Nolan Ryan Schroeder, age 28, of Meta, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. He was born in Jefferson City on July 21, 1980, son of Charles William and Doris Elizabeth (Werner) Schroeder.

Nolan enjoyed raising Registered Quarter Horses and was employed at Diamond Pet Foods in Meta. He was in the U.S. Army, the Missouri National Guard, and was an Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran. He was a member of the VFW Argyle Post 8045, AQHA, and the NCHA. Nolan was also a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta.

He is survived by his parents; four brothers, Michael Schroeder and wife Monica, Josh Schroeder and wife Jennifer, Cordell Schroeder and wife Jeanette, and D.J. Schroeder and wife Joanne all of Meta; and ten nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2009, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta. Rev. Mark Porterfield will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery in Meta.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, at the church.
