Nora Louise (Witt) Rodden, age 87, of Brumley, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in Brumley on August 6, 1927, daughter of the late Everett and Tilda (Shelton) Witt. On October 11, 1945, in Brumley, Nora married Chester "Chalk" Rodden, who preceded her in death on November 30, 2003.
Nora worked at Lake Linen and Howard Johnsons, but her most important job was being a housewife and devoted mother to her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Rodden Church of Christ in Brumley.
She is survived by two sons, Chester Junior Rodden and wife Bonnie of Brumley and Michael Anthony Rodden and wife Bonnie of Crocker; one daughter, Pamela Marie Cochran and husband Dallas of Fayette; five grandchildren, Donna Moss and husband Dallas of Brumley, Robert Rodden and Holly Duncan of Brumley, Autumn Cochran, Austin Cochran both of Fayette, and Charlotte Rodden and fiancé Levi Durreman of Crocker; six great-grandchildren, Adam Moss and wife Sara of Jefferson City, Matt Moss and wife Brittany of Iberia, Amber Moss and fiancé Brien Kiser of Brumley, Alexandra Rodden of Brumley, Gracie Bonebrake, and Emma Duncan; two great-great-grandchildren, Weston Moss and Isaac Moss; and seven brothers and sisters, Doral Witt and wife Shirley; Iven Witt and wife Joyce, Lois Comer and husband Raymond, Jerry Witt and wife Geneva, Jim Witt and wife Doris, Alan Witt and wife Barb, and Brenda Strickland and husband Jerry.
She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Ruth Rodden, Irene McDowell, Grace York, & Dean Plemmons.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with funeral services immediately following at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, June 24, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Brian Duncan will officiate. Interment will be in Rodden Family Cemetery in Brumley.
