Obituary
Norbert J. Massman, age 81, of Westphalia formerly of St. Elizabeth, died Sunday, April 6, 2008, at the Westphalia Retirement Center. He was born in Meta on October 23, 1926, son of William and Mary (Lueckenhoff) Massman.
He attended the Schanzmeyer School in Meta. He farmed on the family farm near St. Elizabeth where he was born and raised. He enjoyed camping and was an avid bowler and fisherman. He also loved four wheeling with his favorite dog, Duke. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth.
Survivors include one brother, Joseph Massman and wife Dora of Westphalia; and one sister, Dorothy Brenneke and husband Herman of Jefferson City.
He was a SPECIAL uncle to several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Theresa Brasier and Rose Massman; and one brother, John Massman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth. Rev. Francis Stuart, OSB, will officiate. Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the St. Elizabeth Community Center with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
