Obituary
Norma Jean Young, age 64, of Rocky Mount, died Wednesday, December 14, 2005, at her home. She was born in Atlantic, Iowa on February 2, 1941, a daughter of the late Christian Hans and Gertrude Emily (Lile) Petersen. On May 27, 1966, in Omaha, Nebraska, she was married to LeeRoy K. Young, who survives at the home.
She worked at Comfort Inn in Osage Beach for several years.
Others who survive her include: Three sons, Kelly Young of Atlantic, Iowa, Randy Swensen of Denver, Colorado and Jeff Young of Rocky Mount; six daughters, Tracy Bysor of Jefferson City, Tammy Swensen of Rocky Mount, Kim Register of Atlantic, Iowa, Kathy Martin of Lake Ozark, Stephanie Myers of Warrensburg and Tina Warren of Knob Noster; two brothers, Harvey Petersen of Griswold, Iowa and Bill Petersen of Alameda, California; two sisters, Nadine Hinkle of Warrensburg and Helen Zaloudek of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 24 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
One brother, Milo Petersen and one sister, Triva Lench, also preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. with services immediately following on Saturday, December 17, 2005, at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon. Bro. John Shifflet will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday at Half Rock Cemetery, near Spickard, Missouri.
Memorial contributions are suggested to American Cancer Society.
