Oliver L. Jacoby, retired Master Sergeant U.S. Air Force, age 85, of Iberia, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2009, at University Hospital in Columbia. He was born in Reading, Pennsylvania, on April 16, 1924, son of the late Frederick and Mary (Lutz) Jacoby. On March 18, 1958, in Ulm, Germany, Oliver married Lotte Marianne Saum, who survives at the home.

He is also survived by four sons, Roland Jacoby and wife Doris of Plato, Michael Jacoby and wife Maria of El Paso, Texas, Alan Jacoby and wife Carren of Iberia, Frederick Jacoby and wife Debbie of Howe, Indiana; one daughter Deborah Zeman and husband Gary of Linn Creek; sixteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Ernest Jacoby and wife Mary of C.D.A Idaho; and one sister-in-law, Mary Ann Jacoby of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Oliver served in the U.S. Air Force for over 22years, during World War II, Korea, Vietnam, also serving in the Philippines, New Guinea, and many cities around the world. He also worked for the City of Las Vegas for 14 years as a license inspector.

A graveside service with military honors will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2009, in Springfield Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
