Onie Boulware, age 73, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2017, at her home. She was born in Miller County on February 17, 1944, daughter of the late Roscoe and Mary Freda (Brookshire) Helton. On August 18, 1960, in Dixon, Onie married Willis Dean Lee Boulware Sr., who preceded her in death on November 17, 2001.

Onie worked for many years as a pharmaceutical researcher at Ralston Purina in St. Louis, Forest Pharmaceutical in Earth City, and later worked in the trucking industry with her son.

Onie loved traveling and spending time outdoors caring for animals and farming.

She is survived by one sister, Judy Hodge-Smith and husband Lex of St. Elizabeth; brother, Greg "Homer" Helton of Iberia, and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her son, Dean Boulware Jr.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11 a.m., with a graveside service immediately following at 11 a.m., on Thursday, June 8, at Union Cemetery near Iberia.
