Ora "Tom" Ash, age 84, of Brumley, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at Lake Regional Hospital. He was born in Brumley on May 10, 1924, son of Clint and Lola (Phillips) Ash. On October 5, 1945, in Brumley, he was married to Billie Darlene Robinett, who preceded him in death on October 12, 1986.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He worked at Stanton's Novelty in Lake Ozark until his retirement. In his latter years, he loved to fish and camp where many family memories were made. His best pleasure was to host an annual fish fry for his family.
Survivors include one daughter, Penny Allee and husband Charles of Brumley; two sons, Lesley Ash and Cindy of Brumley and Jessey Ash and Debbie of Iberia; one daughter-in-law, Billie Ash of Brumley; his best friend, Delphia Sons of Brumley; two brothers, Webb Ash of Eldon and Curt Ash of Brumley; 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Wes Ash in 1993; and one brother, Warren Ash.
Visitation will be from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis Nichols officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Robinett Cemetery near Brumley.
