Ortho Dean Heckert, of Iberia formerly of Warsaw, age 88, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2019, at Harry S. Truman VA Hospital in Columbia. He was born in Wisconsin on January 13, 1931. In 2007 in Warsaw, Ortho married Myra Marie Luttrell, who survives at their home.

In addition to his wife, Myra Heckert, he is also survived by one step-grandson, Fred Heckert of Kansas City; special niece, Holly Henderson of Iberia; and several family and friends.

He was preceded in death by eight siblings.

Dean honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed fishing and was known for his joking humor and passionate knowledge of the Bible. Dean was a good and faithful husband to Myra and was devoted to his faith.

Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Dennis Vann officiating. Interment will be held in Hawkins Cemetery near Brumley.
