Ovid Lee Luttrell, age 79, of Brumley, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011, at his home. He was born in Miller County, on April 21, 1931, son of the late Hamen and Zilphia (Reinhart) Luttrell. On June 30, 1955, in Hawkeye, Ovid married Erma Dean Pemberton, who preceded him in death on July 17, 2002.

Ovid was a founding member of the Brumley Lions Club and was on the Mt. Union Cemetery Board. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Ovid was a member of Mt. Union Church of Christ near Brumley.

He is survived by one son, Randy Luttrell and wife Debra of Brumley; two daughters, Charlotte McDowell of Lake Ozark and Michele Luttrell of Brumley; four grandchildren, Randi Roark, Dakotah Luttrell, Missy Langatau, and Julie McDowell, six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Lynn Luttrell, Donnie V. Luttrell, Terry Luttrell, and Mike Luttrell all of Brumley; and three sisters, Betty Johnston of Stoutland, Sharon Quern of Richland, and Sally Durham of Springfield.

He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Ronnie Luttrell, Jackie Luttrell, Okie Luttrell, Clint Luttrell, and Dean Luttrell; and one sister, Bonnie Bowden.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Lee Todd will officiate. Interment with military honors under the direction of the Iberia VFW Post 6167 and American Legion Post 105 will be in Mt. Union Cemetery near Brumley.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 25, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Missouri River Hospice of Jefferson City.
