Owen Cordell Street, age 80, of Dixon, died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Dixon Nursing and Rehab. He was born in Maries County on August 18, 1927, son of Victor David and Arminta (McMinn) Street.
He owned and operated Street Timber Products. He had previously been in the trucking business. He also had worked for Hauck Oil and at Ft. Leonard Wood for three years. He was a member of the Dixon Volunteer Fire Department and was also a member of Hancock Christian Church.
Survivors include close friend, Shirley Kaiser of Dixon and her family, Roberta Long and husband Robert of Ava and their family, Katherine Bivins and husband Gary of Pecatonica, Illinois, and their family, Nancy Schmitz and husband Boone of Westphalia and their family, and Sally Schneider and husband Wayne of Linn and their family; one sister-in-law, Betty Street of Crocker; and four nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Thelma Ford and Genevieve Hicks; one brother, Delmar Street; and one nephew, Larry Street.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, at Hancock Christian Church in Hancock. Pastor Gary Day will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
