Paul Meredith, age 90, of Iberia, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2013, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born in Iberia on July 22, 1922, son of the late Marshall and Pearl (Winfrey) Meredith. On October 25, 1947, in Brumley, Paul married Thelma Marie Wall who survives at the home.
Paul served in the United States Navy as a Yeomin III during World War II from 1941 until his honorable discharge in 1944.
Paul served as the Miller County Circuit Clerk and Recorder for 32 years and later served as County Commissioner and other positions with Miller County. After retirement he continued to farm with his family. Paul enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
He was a member of Mt. Union Church of Christ near Brumley.
He is also survived by two daughters, Paula Meredith of Jefferson City, Terry Pahlmann and husband Jeff of Iberia; one son, Steve Meredith and wife Colleen of Jefferson City; one daughter-in-law, Ramona Meredith of Iberia; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one brother, Gene Meredith and wife Glotha of Iberia.
He was preceded in death by one son, Phillip Meredith, two brothers, Gerald Meredith and Noble Meredith; and one sister, Beulah Phillips.
Visitation will be from 12 (noon) to 2 p.m., with services immediately following at 2 p.m., on Friday, January 18, 2013, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Robert Dover will officiate. Interment will be in Hawkins Cemetery near Brumley.
