Phyllis L. Steen, age 88, of Iberia, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. She was born in Iberia on June 26, 1923, daughter of the late Joe and Grace (Wall) Bond. On December 7, 1947, in Iberia, Phyllis married Kermit Wayne Steen, who preceded her in death on June 21, 1994.
Phyllis was on the Livingston Cemetery Board for over 30 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Iberia.
She is survived by one daughter, Marilyn Rodden and husband Howard of Brumley; one son, Wayne Steen and wife Elaine of Iberia; two grandsons, Jason Buechter and wife Michelle and Zeb Steen both of Iberia; one step grandson, Roger Rodden and wife Shelba of Brumley; one great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Buechter; two step great-grandchildren, Dakota Rodden and Drew Rodden; and one sister, Iva Lee Hancock of Springfield.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Vertrilla Steen; four grandchildren; and one sister, Beryl Miller.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m., with services immediately following at 2:30 p.m., on Sunday, July 10, 2011, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Stan Way will officiate. Interment will be in Livingston Cemetery near Iberia.
