Preston Virgil "Pete" Drace, age 60, of Iberia, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, August 20, 2017. He was born in Miller County on October 25, 1956, son of the late Newell Preston and Beulah Ann (Wall) Drace. On October 8, 1983, in Iberia, Pete married Betty Lou Rowden, who survives at their home.

Pete was employed with MODOT for over 28 years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and camping.

Pete had an unwavering dedication to serving the Lord and was a faithful member of Tuscumbia Assembly of God Church.

In addition to his loving wife, Betty, he is also survived by one son, Kodi Drace and wife Heather of Iberia; two grandchildren, Konner Drace and Kylee Drace; one sister, Janet Lawrence; his mother-in-law, Nettie Rowden; brother-in-law, Terry Rowden; two sisters-in-law, Sheila LaBrot and Betty J. Drace; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Thomas Drace and James Drace; and one sister, Judith Secrest.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., with a memorial service immediately following at 11 a.m., on Saturday, August 26, at the Tuscumbia Assembly of God Church, with Pastor Tim Drake officiating. Final inurnment will be held at a later date on the family farm.
