Ralph J. Herx, age 68, of St. Anthony, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born in Iberia on September 6, 1941, son of the late Lawrence P. and Josephine Ann (Buechter) Herx. On October 6, 1962, in St. Anthony, Ralph married Josephine "Josie" Wieberg, who preceded him in death on November 14, 2009.

He worked for Eads Motor Company in Iberia for 39 years. After he retired he continued working on the family farm. Ralph was a member of the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

He is survived by one son, Fred Herx and wife Lisa; one grandson, Mitchell Herx; one granddaughter, Renea Herx; one great-grandson, Cole Herx all of St. Anthony; three brothers, Jerry Herx, Larry Herx, both of St. Anthony and Tom Herx of Eldon; four sisters, Genevieve Voss, Patsy Voss, Mary Herx, all of St. Anthony and Louise Hagenhoff of Russellville; two aunts; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Donald Herx.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2010, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Rev. Daniel Lueckenotte will officiate. Interment will be in St. Anthony Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 1, 2010, at the St. Anthony Parish Hall from 3-7 p.m., with a rosary at 3 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. to conclude the visitation.
