Randy R. Barnhart, age 60, of Meta, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Jefferson Barracks VA Medical Center in St. Louis. He was born in St. Louis on April 30, 1951, son of the late Loren and Dixie Barnhart.
Randy served as a Private First Class in the United States Army during Vietnam and was awarded two Purple Hearts.
He is survived by three children, Kelly Latta, Nathan Barnhart, and Jennifer Mortimer all of St. Louis; four grandchildren, Khloe Latta, Avery Barnhart, Peyton Barnhart, and Evan Mortimer; and one sister, Pam Schmuck of Georgia.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Monte Barnhart.
Visitation will be from 12 (noon) to 2 p.m., with services immediately following at 2 p.m., on Friday, October 14, 2011, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Kevin Rowden will officiate. Interment will be in Dick Lawson Cemetery near Iberia.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Randy Barnhart's Grandchildren's Education Fund.
