Raymond L. "Bino" Beard, age 69, of Iberia, died Saturday, May 13, 2006, at the Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Ulman on September 11, 1936, son of Verner H. and Dorothy Pauline (Hudson) Beard. On October 29, 1960, in Iberia, he was married to Janice Evelyn Plemmons, who survives at the home.
He was a Navy veteran and worked as a truck driver at Ft. Leonard Wood until his retirement. After retirement, he worked for Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia and for the past 14 years has worked as a school bus driver for the Iberia School District. He was a member of the Missouri State Teachers Association and past board member of the Miller County Care Center. He was a member of the Iberia Church of the Nazarene.
Other survivors include one son, Michael Beard and wife, Joyce of Holts Summit; one daughter, Twyla Limbach and husband, Dennis of Marys Home; one brother, Lynn Beard of Ozark; five sisters, Imogene Horton, June Ahart, Pauline Hensley, and Patricia Ash all of Tuscumbia and Melissa Beard of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Anthony Ginger and wife, Molli and Andrew Ginger, Cassandra and Corey Beard, and Joseph, Reagan, and Thomas Limbach.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, at Iberia Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Greg McClain will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in Mt. Union Cemetery near Brumley.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Raymond Beard Memorial Fund to be used for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
