Richard Brooks Baker, age 28, of Iberia, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019. He was born in Jefferson City on March 8, 1991, son of Ricky and Lisa (Prather) Baker.

Brooks was a jokester with a contagious smile who always lived life to the fullest.  He was an avid outdoorsman and faithful Patriot's fan who enjoyed hunting and loved playing poker and golf. Brooks was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was recently blessed with a daughter, Cat, and was so proud to be her father.

Brooks was a member of First Baptist Church in Iberia.

In addition to his parents, Ricky and Lisa Baker, he is also survived by his daughter, Catherine "Cat", five sisters, Kayla Ray, Tiffany Baker, Whitney Holtmeyer and husband Matt, Alex Baker, and Peyton Baker; girlfriend, Victoria Crossland; nieces, Khloe Irvin, Reese Baker, and Landry Holtmeyer; nephew, Grayson Holtmeyer; maternal grandfather, Richard "Buck" Prather; paternal grandparents, Jerry Baker and Sharon Ricker; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Kathern Prather and grandfather, Hirsty Ricker.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with services immediately following at 2 p.m., on Sunday, May 5, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. Lee Todd officiating. Interment will be held in Union Cemetery near Iberia.

Memorial contributions are suggested to his daughter's educational fund, payable to Catherine's Education Fund.
