Ricky Lee Nelson, age 49, of Iberia, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital in Columbia. He was born in Tuscumbia on March 6, 1965, son of Thomas and Susie Nelson and Loren and Kathy (Rowden) Humphrey.

Ricky worked in various careers in his life including working at Yacht Club Marina at Lake of the Ozark, he worked as a car salesman at Lloyd Belt in Eldon, repossession agent for Rent A Center in Eldon, a taxi driver in Fort Wood, mechanic at Campbell Tire in Iberia; and he also operated Rock Town Repair as a handyman.

Ricky served in the United States Marines. He was a founding member of Rock Town Rider and later became the Bush Pilot MC. He was a member of the American Legion Post 105 and Iberia City Council. Ricky was currently attending Lincoln University working on his master's degree in History.

He is survived by one son, Robert Nelson of Gulf Port, Mississippi; two stepsons, Shawn Torbit and Seth Torbit both of Iberia; mother, Kathy Humphrey of Iberia; one granddaughter, Lyla Lee Nelson; four brothers, Jim Humphrey of Iberia, Will Humphrey of Iberia, David Humphrey of Tuscumbia, and Tom Humphrey of Iberia; five sisters, Katina Campbell of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Vicky Nelson of Iberia, Janette Wheat of Tuscumbia, Kathy Winfrey of Iberia, and Peggy Marso of Iberia; and one uncle Paul Rowden of Columbia.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Nelson; step-father, Loren Humphrey; and three sisters, Joyce Ray, Betty Schmidt, and JoAnn Belk.

Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Tom Nelson will officiate. Interment with military honors under the direction of the Iberia VFW Post 6167 and American Legion Post 105 will be in Union Cemetery near Iberia.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 30, at the funeral home.
