Robert J. "Bob" Huhmann, age 76, of St. Elizabeth, died Monday, September 3, 2007, at the Audrain Medical Center in Mexico. He was born on the family farm in Tuscumbia on May 13, 1931, son of Joseph Mathias and Mary Anna (Luebbert) Huhmann. He was married to Odella E. Normandin on October 11, 1958, in Damar, Kansas. She survives at the home.

He served in the United States Air Force as a KC-97 and KC-135 pilot. He retired in 1974 after 22 years of service. He farmed in the St. Elizabeth area for a number of years. He was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus in St. Elizabeth. He was an avid bowler, pitch player, golfer, and outdoorsman.

Other survivors include five children, Martin Huhmann and wife Amy of Smithville, Renee Brobst and husband Chuck of Kansas City, Dale Huhmann and wife Eileen of Puyallup, Washington, Randy Huhmann of Centralia, and Monique Plante and husband Dave of Aldie, Virginia; two brothers, Paul Huhmann of Jefferson City and Ed Huhmann of Centertown; three sisters, Rita Lewis of Malibu, California, Rosemary Popp of O'Fallon, and Annie Lutz of Jefferson City; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Norma Allain and Lucille Huhmann.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 7, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth. Rev. Francis Stuart, OSB, will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in the St. Lawrence Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at Rekus Funeral Home in St. Elizabeth with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
