Obituary

Robert "Bob" Isidore Lueckenotto, age 78, formerly of St. Thomas, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City. He was born in St. Thomas on July 3, 1942, son of the late Henry and Agnes (Groner) Lueckenotto.

Bob entered the United States Army in 1964 and was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood and Ft. Sill, Okla. for five years. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Bob was employed with the Missouri Department of Revenue as Division Director until his retirement at the age of 54. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta and St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit.

Bob took pride in living and working on his farm in Holts Summit. He lived for looking after and caring for his cattle each day and performing whatever other chores were involved in making his farm a success. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, pool and bowling with friends and family. He had a talent for each of these sports and loved a little friendly competition. Bob grew vegetables in a large garden each year and shared his produce with family and friends. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. He was happiest spending time in the great outdoors and he always had a big smile when he got to be with his grandchildren. His daughters are happy that he taught them the life-long lessons of a good work ethic and how to be self-sufficient. His perfectionism showed in all aspects of his life.

He is survived by three daughters, Sheila Ulmer (Erich) of Shawnee, KS, Pam Lueckenotto of St. Charles, and Julie Stratman of Jefferson City; their mother, Alice Robertson; six grandchildren, Cameron Rose, Zoe Stratman, Sydni Stratman, Evan Ulmer, Clemmie Morton, and Grace Morton; one great-granddaughter, RaeLynn Rose; eight siblings, Florentine Hagenhoff, Imogene Volmert, Dorothy Buechter, Ed Lueckenotto, Larry Lueckenotto, Mil Wieberg, Norine Brune, and Marie Lueckenotto; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Jerri Schroeder, Rose Bisges, and Father Arthur Lueckenotto ("Fr. Luke"); four brothers-in-law, Fred Hagenhoff, Herbert Volmert, Ed Buechter, and Hugo Bisges; and one granddaughter, Haley Rose.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held during a private family Mass of Christian Burial at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta with Fr. Leonard Mukiibi officiating. The public is welcome to attend the graveside service with military honors at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, at St. Cecilia Cemetery in Meta.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Cecilia Catholic Church, St. Cecilia Cemetery, or St. Andrew Church.

The family has requested for anyone attending the private mass or the public graveside service to wear a mask.
