Robert "Bob" Lee Alderman, age 75, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018, at Landmark Hospital in Columbia. He was born in St. Louis on April 15, 1942, son of the late Mark L. and Delores (Haley) Alderman.
Bob was baptized at St. Vincent Catholic Church in St. Louis. He graduated from high school in 1959, in San Manuel, Arizona and soon thereafter began work for Kennicott Copper Mines in Hayden, Arizona. During this time, he also formed a band which played in clubs in southern Arizona. He loved being with family and playing music throughout his life.
While away from Missouri, Bob frequently visited his grandmother, Pearl Madden, in Iberia. He returned to his beloved state of Missouri in 1962. Bob worked for years at Westinghouse in Jefferson City and owned several business establishments.
He is survived by two daughters, Carol Lynn Schoenthaler and husband Marty and Amanda Alderman; two sons, Robert Avery and wife Tracy and Mark Allen Alderman; one brother, George "Bud" Alderman; two sisters, Debra Rayhart and husband Jack and Cheryl Holmes; five grandchildren, Wyatt Alderman, Ramona Alderman, Colton Keene, Cassidy Keene, and Cameron Keene; one great-granddaughter, Kimber and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Tina Marie.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with services immediately following at 2 p.m., on Saturday, February 3, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Interment will be held in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Iberia.
