Robert George Luttrell, age 93, of Fairmount, Indiana, formerly of Iberia, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at his home. He was born in Iberia on March 24, 1916, son of the late William and Mary (Reinhart) Luttrell. He was married in Pulaski County to Thelma Rowden, who survives at the home.
Robert served in the Army during WWII where he received the Purple Heart. He is a lifetime member of the Iberia VFW Post 410 and Disabled American Veteran of Waynesville. Robert was a member of Iberia Church of Christ.
He is also survived by two daughters, Nadine McCrite of Fairmount, Indiana and Nancy Brown and husband Lee of Crocker; two stepchildren, Nora Ann Whittle of Alaska and Clyde Wilson of Iberia; two grandchildren, Vicki Arends and Chris McCrite; six step-grandchildren, Berlin Whittle of Alaska, Dwight Whittle of Colorado, Ivory Wilson of Iberia, Deana Rowden of Iberia, Tanya Henson of St. Elizabeth, and Debra Nichols of Iberia; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Pauline O'Brian of Mountain View.
He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2009, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Roger Fischer will officiate. Interment will be in Bray's Cemetery near Iberia.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice.
