Bob Shauck, Sr., age 91, of Eldon, died Monday, January 29, 2007. He was born in Mansfield, Ohio on December 16, 1915, a son of the late Chalmer and Nettie (Condon) Shauck. On June 29, 1943, in Mansfield, Ohio, he was married to Janet McKitrick.
Bob was a Navy veteran of World War II. He served from 1940-1946 and was a machinist mate and Chief Petty Officer on the USS Spry. He moved from North Fairfield, Ohio to Miller County in 1968 where he ran a commercial cattle farm.
Those who survive him include: His wife, Janet Shauck of Eldon, four children, Bob Shauck, Jr. and significant other Bettie of Eldon, Cheryll Sims and husband Bob of Azle, Texas, Dennis Shauck and wife Betsy of Holden and Tom Shauck and significant other Barbara of Eldon; nine grandchildren, Sheri Zumsteg, Sara Shauck, Becky Eckerle, Kathy Lam, Jon Sims, Daniel Sims, Heather Shauck, Tye Shauck and Michelle Weaver; three great grandchildren, Alexandria Zumsteg, Taylor Zumsteg and Maxwell Eckerle; two nephews, Maxwell and Robert Shauck and one niece, Carol Buchanan.
Two brothers, Maxwell Shauck, Sr. and Richard C. Shauck, also preceded him in death.
His body has been cremated under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
