Roger Dale Cochran, age 76, of Brumley, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. He was born on July 26, 1944, son of the late Glenneth and Janice (Pemberton) Cochran.
Roger's knowledge of farming was well known throughout the community, he was often sought out for farming advice from local farmers. Roger never knew a stranger and was loved by all who knew him for his great personality, beloved high spirit, joking manner, and witty sense of humor. He had a contagious smile and was famous for giving nicknames. Roger was a man of faith that was a true believer in Christ. He was a strong-willed man throughout his life and fought a good fight up until the good Lord called him home.
He is survived by five children, Garrie McGrath, Jackie Hall, Beth Vasquez (Freddie), Rogetta "Short" Meyer (Travis), and Mary Steele; Collin Gan, who was like a son; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert "Bob" Cochran (Clara); one sister, Rita Witt; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Janet Cochran and one granddaughter, Abigail Meyer.
A private graveside service was held at Mt. Union Cemetery near Brumley. His honorary pallbearers were Travis Meyer, Freddie Vasquez, Hunter Steele, and Collin Gan.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. with a celebration of life immediately following at 11 a.m., on Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Roger Cochran Memorial Fund.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
