Rose A. Werdehausen, age 87, of Meta, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at the Westphalia Retirement Center. She was born in St. Anthony on August 14, 1920, daughter of Michael and Martha (Rehagen) Otto. On September 10, 1940, in St. Anthony, she was married to Victor John Werdehausen, who preceded her in death on October 21, 1985.

She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta and the Meta Civic League. She loved sewing and quilting and enjoyed making rosaries.

Survivors include three sons, Henry Werdehausen and wife Katy of Ashland, Robert Werdehausen and wife Dorothy of Wardsville, and William Werdehausen of Jefferson City; three daughters, Betty Wilson and husband Wayne of Bonnots Mill, Anna Hartill and husband Scott of Tucson, Arizona, and Diane Veit and husband Charles of Westphalia; one son-in-law, Raymond Twehus of Jefferson City; four brothers, Victor Otto of St. Thomas, Elias Otto of St. Anthony, Fred Otto of Eldon, and Charles Otto of St. Anthony; two sisters, Cecilia Brand of St. Anthony and Bernadine Groner of St. Thomas; 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Mildred Twehus and Mary Ann Werdehausen; one granddaughter, Angela Werdehausen; three brothers, Emil, Lawrence, and Roman Otto; and one sister, Regina Herx.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta. Rev. Mark Porterfield will officiate. Interment will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the church with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m.
