Obituary

Rosemary Theresa Otto, age 76, of St. Anthony, died Saturday, August 2, 2008, at her home. She was born in St. Thomas on February 15, 1932, daughter of Stephen A. and Clara Johanna (Luebbering) Lackman. On May 30, 1951, in St. Thomas, she was married to Herbert D. Otto, who survives at the home.

Cancer took Rosemary from us, but it cannot take the wonderful memories of a giving woman. She will be treasured always.

She worked for the St. Elizabeth Care Center for 22 years retiring in 2003. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, St. Ann's Sodality, and the St. Anthony Knights of Columbus #12242 Ladies Auxiliary.

Other survivors include three sons, Mark A. Otto (Carol) of St. Anthony, Thomas E. Otto (Ruth) of St. Anthony, and Arthur C. Otto (Jean) of Osage Bend; eleven daughters, Patricia A. Otto of Washington, D.C., Donna M. Moeller (Mike) of Kansas City, Marilyn N. Hedges (Chris) of Kansas City, Dolores R. Otto of Kansas City, Linda M. King (Bill) of Nacogdoches, Texas, Agnes A. Otto of Kansas City, Theresa A. Otto of Kansas City, Clare M. Otto of Kansas City, Elaine M. Deeken (Leon) of Koeltztown, Joann O. Bittel (Matt) of Kansas City, and Monica A. Lloyd (Luke) of Monroe City; four brothers, Joseph Lackman of Apple Creek, Ohio, David Lackman of Freeburg, Paul Lackman of St. Thomas, and Bernard Lackman of Centertown; five sisters, Virginia Billian of Towson, Maryland, Dorothy Hartung of High Ridge, Sister Cecelia Lackman, FSM, of St. Louis, Juliet Rodeman of Columbia, and Harriet Lackman of Jefferson City; and 21 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Norine Lage and Frances Lackman.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 7, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony. Rev. Francis Stuart, OSB, and Rev. Patrick J. Shortt will officiate. Interment will be in St. Anthony Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the St. Anthony Parish Hall in St. Anthony with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Rosemary Otto Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Greater Kansas City Community Foundation, 1055 Broadway, Suite 130, Kansas City, MO 64105. The scholarship will benefit St. Elizabeth High School graduates.
