Roy C. Pemberton, age 83, of Brumley, died Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at the Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Miller County on February 22, 1923, son of Elmer and Ethel (Colvin) Pemberton. On October 31, 1946, in Brumley, he was married to Lois Dean Luttrell, who survives at the home.

He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theatre and was awarded three Bronze Stars for the Luzon Southern Philippines Bismarck Archipelago Campaign. He worked at J. B. Deere Cedar Crafts in Lake Ozark for 30 years until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of the Mt. Union Church of Christ near Brumley and the Iberia VFW Post 6167.

Other survivors include three sons, Richard Pemberton and wife, Angie of Jefferson City, Howard Pemberton and wife, Betty of Brumley, and George Pemberton and wife, Sandra of Iberia; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Janice Cochran; and one grandson, Matthew Pemberton.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 12, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Stan Way will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in Mt. Union Cemetery near Brumley.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
