Ruby Harrison, age 91, of Olean, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at the Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Capps on June 18, 1916, daughter of Herman and Mae (Atkinson) King. On November 10, 1934, in Granite City, Illinois, she was married to Raymond Harrison, who preceded her in death on November 9, 1983.

She worked in the nursery at the Eldon First Baptist Church for 30 years until her retirement. She loved taking care of the children and many called her "Grandma Ruby." She was a member of Olean Christian Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Sydney Rekus and husband Roger of Iberia; one son, Herman Harrison and wife Roni of Olean; one grandson, Jason Ray Harrison of Olean; three step grandchildren, Eric Johnson and wife Keresa of Ringgold, Georgia, Alison Miller and husband Todd, of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Christina Haas and Scott of Eldon; and five step great grandchildren, Samuel, Mattye, Alexander, Cora, and Rhiannon.

Graveside services will be at 12 noon on Saturday, November 17, at Olean Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Friday at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
