Ruby G. "Jerry" Helton, age 86, of Ulman, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in Venus, Missouri, on September 28, 1924, daughter of the late Jacob and Hulda (Gray) Clark. On September 28, 1940, in Ulman, she was united in marriage to Lloyd L. Helton, who preceded her in death on August 16, 2001.
Ruby was a member of Mt. Zion Christian Church near Tuscumbia, and a past president of the Miller County O.A.T.S. She was also a member of the Southern Cherokee Indian Tribe.
She is survived by one son, Steve Helton of Dixon; five daughters, Janice Smith of Iberia, Judy Ahart of Ulman, Charlotte Brumley and husband Richard of Tuscumbia, Sharon Abbott and husband Larry of Ulman, and Melissa Barnhart and husband Iva of Eldon; one daughter-in-law, Donna Helton; eleven grandchildren; two step grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, and many relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Terry Helton, one grandson, Kraig Abbott, and one sister, Hulda Harter.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at Mt. Zion Christian Church near Tuscumbia. Charlie Worstell and Gene Edwards will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m., on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Mt. Zion Cemetery or the Miller County Nursing Home.
