Russell E. O'Dell, Sr., age 60, of Eldon, died Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at his home. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on June 22, 1946, a son of the late James and Dorothy (Moore) O'Dell. On November 27, 1989, in Miller County, he was married to Anna M. Borton, who survives at the home.
Russell enjoyed working for the Eldon R-1 School District for the past 2 ½ years.
Others who survive him include: two sons, Joseph O'Dell of Eldon and Russell O'Dell, Jr. of Florida; seven daughters, Rushelle and Barbara Ann O'Dell and Billie Ragsdale all of Eldon, Joyce O'Dell of Florida, Dixie Carolyn Ricker, Edna Jane Tenwalde and Pam Erford all of Ohio; two sisters, Pam Ward and Joyce Ann Sammons both of Florida; three brothers, Michael Ward, Roger Ward and Timmy Henderson all of Florida and numerous grandchildren.
One daughter, Tina O'Dell, also preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 10-12 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, with services immediately following at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon. Pastor Steve Foley will officiate. Interment will be in Eldon City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Russell O'Dell Memorial Fund.
