Ruth Frances Ash, age 91, of Brumley, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in Eldorado, Kansas, on June 26, 1929, daughter of the late Thurman and Mary Ellen (Moss) Beal. On April 22, 1946, Ruth was united in marriage to Samuel "Shorty" Ash, who preceded her in death on February 22, 2012.
Ruth enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family. She was left-handed, so when she was butchering a chicken it was quite the show for the family. Ruth was a faithful member of Rodden Church of Christ near Brumley.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Ash, of Tuscumbia and Frank Ash of Hillsboro, TX; two daughters, Katherine Wilkin of Brumley and Ellen Novicky of Lebanon; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her son, Steven Ash; two grandchildren, Christopher Novicky and Jason Ash, and three brothers, Billy Beal, Vernon Beal, and James Ray Cary.
A private family graveside service will be held in Robinett Cemetery on Saturday, October 24, with her son, Charles Ash, officiating.
Facial masks and social distancing are required for anyone attending the graveside service.
