Ruth Rodden, age 87, of Brumley, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in Brumley on March 11, 1926, daughter of the late Everett and Tildia (Shelton) Witt. On December 24, 1943 in Waynesville, Ruth married Eddie Rodden, who survives at the home.
Ruth was a member of Rodden Church of Christ in Brumley.
She is also survived by one daughter, Debbie Vernon of Brumley; one son, David Rodden and wife Joretta of Brumley; two grandchildren, Jackie Rodden of Brumley and Barbara Smith of Waynesville; two great-grandchildren, Ashley Rodden and Taylor Rodden; and two great-great-grandchildren, Dixie McCubbin and Ryder Wagoner; five brothers, Doral, Iven, Jerry, Jimmie, and Allen Witt; and three sisters, Nora Rodden, Lois Comer, and Brenda Strickland.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Dana Rodden; three sisters, Dean Plemmons, Irene McDowell, and Grace York; one infant sister; and two infant brothers.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., with services immediately following at 10 a.m., on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Charlie Ash will officiate. Interment will be in Rodden Family Cemetery near Brumley.
