Sam J. Trapino, age 59, of Rocky Mount, died Saturday, January 3, 2009, at St. Marys Health Center. He was born in St. Louis on February 4, 1949, a son of Salvatore and Jean (Frisella) Trapino. On October 27, 1986, in Belleville, Illinois, he was married to Linda Aylward, who survives at the home.
Sam was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eldon.
Others who survive him include: five children, Sam Trapino III and significant other, Pat Kelly of Atlanta, Georgia, Shannon Kelley and wife Denise of Rocky Mount, Jilly Trapino and fiancé Javon Harrison of Atlanta, Georgia, Suzy Vladeff and husband Sherman and Steven Trapino all of Rocky Mount; five grandchildren, Dean Kelley, Dillon Kelley and Sammy Vladeff all of Rocky Mount and Jianna Harrison and Max Harrison both of Atlanta, Georgia; his mother, Jean Trapino of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and two sisters, Mary Ann Pulumbo of Niagra Falls, New York and Virginia Dunlevey of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.
His father, Sam Trapino, Sr., preceded him in death.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eldon. Rev. Frederick Elskamp will officiate. Interment will be in Eldon City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon. A prayer service will be held at 8:00 p.m.
