Sammy Humphrey, age 86, of Iberia, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. He was born in Iberia on May 24, 1939, son of the late Steve and Jane (Allen) Humphrey.

Sammy was a member of the Iberia First Baptist Church. His gentle heart and kindness touched everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his niece, Sue Irwin, great-niece, Anna (George) Rowden; great-great-nieces, Cristian (Richard) Kite and Kaylee (Chase) Rowden; great-great-great nieces and nephews, Lucas Kite, Gracelyn Kite, Payton Kite, Nathan Kite, and Richie Kite; and a host of family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his five brothers, Edward Humphrey, Cecil Humphrey, Roy Humphrey, Tom Humphrey, and Bobbie “Tab” Humphrey.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with services immediately following at 11 a.m., on Thursday, January 22, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Roy Bryant officiating. Interment will be held in Iberia Cemetery.
