Sandy Wright, age 66, of Iberia, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2015, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. She was born in Los Angeles, California on March 25, 1949, daughter of the late Thomas and Virginia (Combs) Smith. On August 14, 1971, at Hickory Point Baptist Church near Iberia, Sandy married Jerry Arthur Wright, who preceded her in death on December 1, 2009.
Sandy is a 1967 graduate of Iberia High School. She was employed in the Human Resource department at Holiday Inn in Lake Ozark for over 30 years and was currently working at Bank of Iberia.
Sandy was a member of Iberia First Baptist Church and Red Hatters. She enjoyed collecting Longaberger Baskets and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sandy loved cooking and is referred to by her family as the "greatest cook around".
She is survived by three sons, William Wright and wife Amy of High Point, Zachary Wright and wife Stephanie of Loose Creek, and Quentin Wright and wife Megan of St. Elizabeth; six grandchildren, Kamdyn and Kendal Wright of High Point, Reese Wright of Loose Creek, Emmett, Elsie, and Leah Wright of St. Elizabeth and one grandchild on the way in May; five brothers, Tom Smith, Robert "Bob" Smith, Jerry Smith, Jack Smith, and Rance Smith; and three sisters, Marjorie Scronce, Regina Blankenship, and Nancy Brandt.
In addition to her loving husband Jerry, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Marcella Norton and two brothers, Delbert Smith and Raymond Smith.
Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 10, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Rick Seaton will officiate. Interment will be in Iberia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9, at the funeral home.
