Sarah Venus Howser, age 90, of Iberia, passed away Monday, October 18, 2010, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in Iberia on January 29, 1920, daughter of the late William and Laura (Humphrey) Blankenship. On December 18, 1941, in Tuscumbia, Sarah married Howard William Howser, who preceded her in death on May 13, 1998.
Sarah was a member of the First Baptist Church in Iberia.
She is survived by three sons, Carl Howser, Kenneth Howser, and Arthur Howser all of Iberia; three daughters, Shirley Shears of Macon, Joyce Chambers of Iberia, and Judy Coleman of Huntsville; 14 grandchildren; 35great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was also preceded in death by one son, James Howser; one sister, Vivian Maylee; two brothers, Guy Blankenship and Obe Blankenship; and three nephews, Leroy Blankenship, Dean Blankenship, and David Blankenhip.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Glen Golden will officiate. Interment will be in Seaton Cemetery near Dixon.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19, at the funeral home.
