Obituary

Selma E. Shelton, age 88, of Iberia, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in Iberia on March 27, 1929, daughter of the late Otto and Alma (Kasterson) Rowden. On June 13, 1946, in Waynesville, Selma married Wilbert "Webb" Shelton, who preceded her in death on October 18, 1998.

Selma was a life-long resident of Iberia and she had great pride for her hometown and community. Selma was a strong supporter and caregiver of both Pleasant Hill and Brays Cemetery. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed quilting with others.

Selma was an active member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Iberia First Christian Church.

She is survived by two sons, Jim Shelton and wife Nancy of Lohman and John Shelton and wife Donita of Russellville; four grandchildren, Stephanie Lyle, Jill Diana Lemons, Heather Rainey, and Greg Shelton; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Webb, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Verina Plemmons and Ruby Plemmons.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 (noon), with services immediately following at 12 p.m., on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Stan Way will officiate. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Iberia.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
