Sherrill D. Wilson, age 70, of Tuscumbia, died Monday, January 7, 2008, in Camden County. He was born in Miller County on May 1, 1937, son of Claude and Eula (Casey) Wilson. On June 21, 1958, in Tuscumbia, he was married to Glenda Mae Clark, who survives at the home.
He had worked for Apperson Construction and was currently employed with Apperson Utility Contracting in Eldon. He had also worked for many years for the Miller County Sheriff's Department as a deputy sheriff and also as a jailer. He was a country and bluegrass music fan and enjoyed playing music with friends around the central Missouri area.
Other survivors include five children, Joe Wilson and wife Terry of Rolla, David Wilson of Alexandria, Virginia, Judy Stewart and husband Don of Branson, Sherry Comer and husband Mitch of Linn Creek, and Stacy Lawless and husband Chris of Tuscumbia;
10 grandchildren, Lane and Sarah Wilson, Tyler and Forrest Wilson, Trent, Jacob, and Boomer Wilson, Sierra Comer, and Hunter and Harlee Lawless; two great-grandchildren, Alyce Wilson and Landon Fultz; and six brothers and sisters, Harold Gene Wilson of Tuscumbia, Doris Cross of Tuscumbia, Phyllis Visser of Tuscumbia, Connie Barber of Iberia, Tony Wilson of Tuscumbia, and Ronnie Wilson of Tuscumbia.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Danny Wilson and Gerald Wilson.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Gene Edwards will officiate. Interment will be in Capps Cemetery near St. Elizabeth.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
