Shirley L. Allen, age 81, of Eldon, died Monday, August 11, 2008, at North Fulton Regional Hospital in Roswell, Georgia. She was born in Farmington, Michigan on July 25, 1927, a daughter of the late Elmer and Lillian (Martin) Harris. On April 18, 1959, in Port Huron, Michigan, she was married to Don Allen, who survives at the home.

Shirley was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Eldon.

Others who survive her include: four children, Ron Hershberger and wife Judith of Wentzville, Ken Allen and wife Vicki Dawn of Virginia City, Nevada, Darrell Allen of San Diego, California and Dan Allen of Eldon; eleven grandchildren, Wesley Hershberger, Sarah, Stephen, Seth and Rachel Middendorf, Amy Benedict, Lydia Brady, Kara, Courtney, Alisia and Bryan Allen; 14 great grandchildren; one brother, Elmer Harris of Milan, Michigan and one sister Vida Couture of Canton, Georgia.

Two sisters, Helen Walker and Arlene Lyon, also preceded her in death.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, at Church of the Nazarene in Eldon. Rev. Jerry Frye will officiate.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon.
